Ronald McDonald House

My mom and I had the opportunity a couple of weeks ago to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Gainesville as part of a young women's service project. Members from the ward made dinner, and the young women served while Mom, Jack, and I visited with the guests of RMH. It was a really special feeling to be able to offer encouragement and support to other people who were in the same spot we were in a couple of months ago. It was especially neat because most of the guests had babies who were very premature (I'm talking born at 26 weeks). So It was really special to let them hold and play with Jack while we talked about what they were going through and what we went through and how soon they will have a strong healthy baby like Jack because of God's grace and the miracles of modern technology.

Please excuse the fact that I am unnecessarily crouching down (by myself) like a complete dummy.

Of course that was a day Jack decided to skip a nap. He was a complete grump until he decided it was time to put on a show for the people we were visiting. Such a ham. Thanks to some tricks from Gramma Jack fell fast asleep on the way home.
