This year we hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our place. It's a shame that the University doesn't allow more time off for Thanksgiving. With just a short break it is too hard to justify paying for plane tickets to visit family. All of our Bloomington friends were in the same boat, so we decided to all get together. The food was all amazing. By the time we were ready to eat we never stood a chance of getting a picture of the food.

Jack's Birthday Party
For Jack's first birthday party, we threw a Mr. Man themed bash. We had all of our guests take pictures with props as they rolled in.
After everyone arrived, it was time for dinner. We served homemade pulled pork sandwiches, homemade mac and cheese, and fresh fruit... We had so much leftovers we were able to send all of the parents home with a to go bag. Then it was time to open presents. That was fun for about two seconds because Jack had no idea what was going on... Jack's friend Liv even came dressed to match the decor!
The decorations and the cake that my Mom and I made. It's always so amazing to me how much more I can get done with the help of my Mom.
Cake time!!! Jack's cake was decorated as a top hat and the bottom half had mustaches to go with the theme... In hindsight, black frosting was probably not the best choice, but what other color could you make a top hat? It was just hard to see how cute Jack was smiling because his teeth, tongue, lips, cheeks, chin, EVERYTHING was solid black... oh well. That's another one of those, "you live, and you learn" type moments.
The aftermath... Jack was so cute the entire time he was eating. Everyone was standing around him watching, so of course he was elated to have all the attention. He kept stopping and clapping and then he would hysterically laugh because he knew he was being funny. Of course, after all of that, he definitely needed a bath...
